Artisan Jalapeno Breadsticks





1 God is our refuge and strength,
   an ever-present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
   and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
3 though its waters roar and foam

Ingredients:
3/4 cup milk
3 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp maple syrup
1 tbsp yeast
1 tsp salt
2 jalapenos minced
~2.5 cups whole wheat flour
1 egg (beaten for wash)
dried Parmesan Cheese



Directions:
1. mix the milk, oil, maple syrup, yeast, and salt in a bowl


2. knead in the jalapenos and flour (adding more if necessary) to achieve a soft ball of dough


3. use a rolling pin to roll the ball into a large rectange (~12"X8")


4. wait ~30 minutes
5. cut into strips and arrange on a foil-lined tray


6. brush with egg wash and sprinkle cheese on top


7. bake for ~20-25 minutes at 350 degrees F
