Coconut Olive Bees Wax Vitamin E Lotion

 “Great and marvelous are Your deeds,
   Lord God Almighty.
Just and true are Your ways,
   King of the ages.
4 Who will not fear You, O Lord,
   and bring glory to Your name?
For You alone are holy.
All nations will come
   and worship before You,
for Your righteous acts have been revealed.”Rev 15

Introduction: This was the first time I made lotion and I thank God that it worked (I did not think the emulsifying step would work :) ).

Ingredients:

1/3 cup coconut oil
1/3 cup olive oil
(note about oil choice: you can use any combination of nut, seed, olive, avocado, tallow, and coconut oils. Remember that coconut oil contains medium chain triglycerides which pass through the plasma membrane of skin cells to nourish even the insides of skin cells)
1 tbsp bees wax (this is the emulsifier; found at your local farmer's market or from an old candle)

2/3 cup water

Optional:
2 tbsp Zinc Oxide (for sunscreen spf 40)
5 drops of essential oil of your choice (e.g. lavender, lemon, rose, sandalwood, calamus, cinnamon, etc.)
contents of 7 vitamin E gel tablets (use the tip of a knife to poke a hole in the tablet and squeeze contents out; Vitamin E causes exfoliation of skin cells i.e. dead cells fall off and new ones grow)

Directions:

1. heat the oils and bees wax in a small pot on low heat while stirring until the bees wax is melted and distributed; pour into a mixing bowl and let cool

2. stir the Vitamin E into the oil

3. start beating the oil on medium speed with an egg beater while slowly pouring in the water until you have poured in all the water (when I did this, at first the water did not seem to thicken the oil, but after I had poured in about 1/3 cup water, almost instantly the mixture solidified and stayed this way while pouring the other 1/3 cup)

4. thoroughly mix in the zinc oxide and/or essential oil (optional)

5. pour into a container

A little goes a long way! I think I need to learn to make soap, shampoo, conditioner, household cleaners, etc. too!

Saturday

Coconut Plum Cocoa Pieces

1 I will extol the LORD at all times;
   his praise will always be on my lips.
2 My soul will boast in the LORD;
   let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
3 Glorify the LORD with me;
   let us exalt his name together.
 4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me;
   he delivered me from all my fears.
5 Those who look to him are radiant;
   their faces are never covered with shame.
6 This poor man called, and the LORD heard him;
   he saved him out of all his troubles.
7 The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him,
   and he delivers them.
 8 Taste and see that the LORD is good;
   blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.

Hawaiian Strawberry Mango Pineapple Salad with Coconut and Purple Sweet Potato Cream Layers

6 On this mountain the LORD Almighty will prepare
   a feast of rich food for all peoples,
a banquet of aged wine—
   the best of meats and the finest of wines.
7 On this mountain he will destroy
   the shroud that enfolds all peoples,
the sheet that covers all nations;
 8 he will swallow up death forever.
The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears
   from all faces;
he will remove the disgrace of his people
   from all the earth.
            The LORD has spoken.
 9 In that day they will say,
   “Surely this is our God;
